As a huge Monster Hunter Wilds fan, I've been eager for more contenders to Capcom's champion. I loved Dauntless, but it's sadly been drawn to a close. Wild Hearts was a great take on the genre, but plagued by early performance problems that hampered its launch momentum. Enter Beast of Reincarnation. Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase, the new "one-person, one-dog action RPG built around demanding, technical combat" is looking pretty spectacular, and comes from Pokemon developer Game Freak.
The year is 4026. Beast of Reincarnation puts you in the role of Emma the Sealer, an adventurer traveling with her wolf-like companion, Koo, on a journey through post-apocalyptic Japan to save humanity from extinction. The debut trailer for the new action RPG, which you can watch below, shows off battles with giant beasts and mechanical constructs, along with some very impressive mobility tricks.
"It's incredible to be working with Game Director Furushima-san and the renowned development team at Game Freak. We greatly value their continued collaboration and trust," Fictions executive producer Mika Kurasawa says. "We are so excited to show players a glimpse into the stunning world and intense combat of Beast of Reincarnation."
Beast of Reincarnation launches in 2026, and will be included with Xbox Game Pass on day one.
