How to find and craft Arc Raiders Mechanical Components
How to find and craft Arc Raiders Mechanical Components
Where can you find Arc Raiders Mechanical Components? There comes a time in Arc Raiders when you realise that you can begin to craft what you need, instead of risking your neck Topside digging through drawers. Mechanical Components are a key ingredient in many items, and you'll need a lot of them if you want to stand a chance when you do finally venture outside.
It can be difficult when you're looking for a particular item in Arc Raiders - not only is the loot on the Arc Raiders map fairly random, but there is also the threat of death around every corner, whether that be from other players or the bloodthirsty Arc that roam the landscape. You must get stronger if you want to survive, and being able to improve and craft new items is key to that.
There are two key ways for you to procure Mechanical Components: loot them and craft them. Looting Mechanical Components is what you'll have to rely on in the early game, and they can be found in any Mechanical loot area - like Water Treatment Control in Dam Battlegrounds - although they can be tricky to find.
The second method, and by far the most reliable of the two, is crafting your own Mechanical Components. You can do this by building a Refiner in your workshop. A Mechanical Component requires seven Metal Parts and three Rubber Parts to craft - if you're running low on base crafting materials, you can always trade with Celeste for seeds.
How to craft Advanced Mechanical Components
If you upgrade your Refiner, you can actually craft ultra-valuable Advanced Mechanical Components from your workshop. These are used for both upgrading and assembling powerful mid-game weapons, such as the Renegade. Advanced Mechanical Components require both Mechanical Components and Springs to craft.
Now that you know how to get your hands on Mechanical Components, you should be able to breeze into the mid game, and because you can craft them in base, you won't have to get too down about losing anything on a failed trip Topside. Good gear isn't the be-all-end-all when it comes to surviving, however, so make sure you check out our Arc Raiders builds guide to give yourself the best chance - and make sure you take an Arc Raiders Hatch Key along with you for a quick escape, should the need arise.
