Theyre quick to prep, easy to customize with your favorite toppings, and perfect for parties, appetizers, potlucks or if you just want a fun weeknight dinner. Ready in only 25 minutes!FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:What can I use instead of wonton wrappers? I seem to love taco cups of all forms, ha! I have a few other taco cup recipes. If you dont want the wonton wrappers, try these Crescent Taco Cups and Taco Biscuit Cups. What to serve with Taco Wonton Cups? These are delicious as little appetizers but can be served as a main course too. I like to serve these with Mexican rice, refried beans, Mexican Cornbread, or with a little side salad! Where do I find wonton wrappers in the grocery store? I usually find them in the refrigerated section of the produce department. If you cant find wonton wrappers, you could probably use egg roll wrappers, but, I probably wouldnt double them up since it might be too thick. You would also want to keep an eye on the cooking time, I would think it might take a tad bit longer, but Im not sure, since I havent tested it with them. I think spring roll wrappers could be used as well. But, obviously, youll get the best results with wonton wrappers. Can I make these ahead of time and freeze them? You can make the meat mixture ahead of time and freeze it. If you make and assemble the taco cups, they wont thaw well. The wontons will get rubbery. What else can I add to these Wonton Taco Cups? These taco cups are hearty and delicious, but here are a couple of ways to add a bit more variation.You can add a 4-ounce can of drained chopped green chilies to the taco meat for a bit more spice.You can add Tablespoon of minced garlic to the meat while it browns.Add diced sweet onion to the meat while browning it.Try hot taco sauce or a splash of sriracha on the toppings for a bit of spicy heat. Whats the best way to store leftovers? If you have leftover taco cups, you can keep them in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Allow the taco cups to cool completely before you transfer them to your container. This will keep your wonton wrappers crispy. Whats the best way to reheat leftover Taco Cups? You can reheat your taco cups in the oven or air fryer. I dont like to use the microwave because they tend to get soggy.Oven: Preheat your oven to 375F and place your taco cups on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until heated throughout.Air fryer: Add the taco cups to the basket of your air fryer. Cook at 360F for 6-8 minutes. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the oil (if using) to the pan and allow it to heat for about 1 minute (you only need to use the oil if your using lean meat.)Once the oil is shiny and moves easily about the pan, add the beef, breaking it up into crumbles as it browns.Once cooked, drain any excess grease from the pan and stir in the taco seasoning and salsa (Do not mix the taco seasoning with water as directed on the package.
