This summer is hot yall, stay hydrated!Frequently Asked Questions:Do I need to use coconut water? Coconut water naturally contains potassium and other electrolytes that help support hydration. Using all water will still create a refreshing drink, but it wont provide the same electrolyte benefits. Can I skip the maple syrup? Yes. The Homemade Gatorade will be noticeably more tart, but it will still be refreshing and hydrating or you can use your other favorite sweetener like agave syrup, etc. Do I need to add the salt? Yes. The salt helps replace sodium lost through sweat and contributes to the electrolyte balance of the drink. Will this work in place of regular gatorade? Yes. Its perfect before or after a workout, after spending time in the heat, or anytime you need extra hydration. Can I use this to make other flavors? Absolutely. Strawberry, watermelon, orange, cucumber mint, and ginger variations all work well. Fresh ingredients will give you the best flavor and nutrients. Can I make this ahead of time? Yes, but it tastes best the day it is made when the citrus flavors are at their freshest. How do I store leftovers? While I think this tastes best the day that you make it, you can certainly keep leftovers. Store any leftover homemade electrolyte drink in the refrigerator for up to 1-3 days. Give it a quick stir before serving. We like to enjoy this the day it is made.
