Im all about a good comfort food recipe. Anything thats rich, creamy, and effortlessly is my kind of recipe. Slow Cooker Parmesan Pork Chops and potatoes is the perfect dinner when you have a busy night. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:I dont like store bought sauce, how do I make a Homemade Garlic Parmesan sauce? Want to make a homemade sauce instead of store bought I have a fantastic recipe!Ingredients:4 Tablespoons salted or unsalted butter4 garlic cloves, minced3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour1 cup heavy cream cup grated parmesan cheese teaspoon coarse kosher salt teaspoon black pepperDirections:To a small pot over medium heat add the butter and garlic. Once melted add the flour. Stir for 2 minutes. Add the heavy cream. Stir until you have a smooth sauce. Add the parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.Whisk until fully melted and blended. Continue with the recipe as written (you can add the additional heavy cream and parmesan included in the recipe if you want more sauce.) Is browning a must or can I skip it? I think if you are short on time, you can skip the browning. It really just locks in some extra moisture and adds some more color and flavor, but its not required. What to serve with Garlic Parmesan Pork Chops? I feel like this Garlic Parmesan Pork Chops with Potatoes is a whole meal. But, you can add some sides if you want. I would serve with a side salad or some bread, like Dinner Rolls or Garlic Bread. Or you can go with what I made for the pictures and make some steamed broccoli. I also like to serve this with rice to soak up the extra sauce. How do I know when the pork chops are done cooking? I know, nobody wants to dry out the pork chops, but this recipe has a few helping points so that wont happen. First, browning the chops locks in some moisture. Second, youre cooking these low and slow in a Crockpot, so the chances of drying them out lowers. Plus, if you use a meat thermometer, you can know exactly how done they are so you dont over cook them. These should end up being almost fall apart tender though. Why did my sauce separate? Its normal for it to separate as it cooks. All you have to do is give it all a good stir and youll be good as new. What other things can I add in? Add some cheese options like mozzarella or provolone on top before serving. Amp up the veggies by adding spinach, broccoli florets, or mushrooms in the last hour of cooking. Like some heat? Try a pinch of red pepper flakes or use spicy garlic parmesan wing sauce. You could garnish with crumbled bacon. If you want this even creamier, stir in a packet of ranch seasoning. How long do leftovers last? Place leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. When ready, reheat leftovers in the microwave or on the stovetop over low heat, adding a splash of cream or milk if needed to loosen the sauce if needed. You can freeze leftovers for up to 2 months and then pop them in the fridge overnight before reheating. INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)pork chops I used ones that are about 1-1.5 inches thick. You can use bone-in as well. Not feeling pork chops? Try boneless chicken breasts or chicken thighs instead. garlic powder, onion powder, paprika if you are a regular around here, you know this is my standard seasoning blend. Please feel free yo use your favorite salt free options. I think salt free is important because the garlic parmesan sauce already has salt in it. You can always add additional salt if you prefer but you cant take it out once it is in there. butter you can use salted or unsalted. We arent using much here its just to brown the pork chops. baby gold potatoes- You can swap them out for Yukon golds cut into chunks, russets cut into chunks, or even sweet potatoes, baby red potatoes or other options. I think the golds and reds hold up better to the longer cooking process though. Sometimes russet potatoes can turn into mashed potatoes (unless that is what you want.) Buffalo Wild Wings parmesan garlic sauce if you dont have this sauce (but you still want a quick sauce instead of homemade) you can use some jarred garlic alfredo sauce and add some freshly grated parmesan cheese (about 1/4 cup) and if you have it on hand, a little extra garlic.
