You can swap any of the fruit options out. Another simple option to try would be pineapple chunks, blackberries, or raspberries. You could try watermelon, but I would be careful with that one since the watermelon will release a lot of juices. If youre eating it right away, you might be alright, but if youre storing leftovers or making this ahead of time, it may become really watery with the watermelon. Can I make this ahead of time? Yes, you can! Make it, cover it and store it in the fridge. Give it a good stir once youre ready to enjoy it again later. Also, keep in mind what fruit youre using if you plan to make it ahead since some fruit will release a lot of juices as it sits. Why did the apples turn brown? Apples naturally start to brown once theyve been cut open. The oxygen in the air starts to oxidize the apple slices and will turn them brown overtime. If you spritz them with a little fresh lemon juice, it will help prevent them from turning brown. If you dont want to use the lemon juice, you can just omit them. How long are leftovers good for? Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days in a covered container. INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)sliced strawberries I like my slices kind small.
