Crock Pot Swiss Steak
Tender Crock Pot Swiss Steak simmered in tomatoes, veggies, and gravy is an easy comfort food with tons of flavor and minimal preparation!A HEARTY CROCK POT MEALCrock Pot Swiss Steak is a delicious and simple dinner recipe that is made of tender cube steak that is slow cooked with carrots, celery, onions, and a flavorful tomato and gravy sauce. One of the best things of this recipe is that you only need 10 minutes of prep to get it ready and in the Slow Cooker so it can work its magic. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:Can I make this on the stovetop instead? Sure can. I actually have a Swiss Steak recipe already that youll love. Can I skip the browning? This is your meal so you can do whatever you want! The browning adds color and flavor. It makes the cubed steak look tastier as well. You can certainly skip it if you are short on time but if you have time, definitely do it. It really elevates the flavor! What to serve with Crock Pot Swiss Steak? I served my Swiss Steak with some Mashed Potatoes, but I also think it would be great with egg noodles or rice too. You cant go wrong with a big salad and Dinner Rolls or Baked Potatoes either. And if you want to go low carb, try serving over mashed cauliflower or zucchini noodles. How can I thicken the gravy? Still not as thick as youd like? Try whisking together 2 Tablespoons cornstarch with 2 Tablespoons water. Then add to the crock pot and gently stir. Cover and turn crock pot up to high for about 30 minutes. What else can I add to this? You can try a few additions and variations. Try adding some potatoes. Toss in peeled and diced potatoes. Do you like some heat? Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce to the sauce mix. Want a creamy version? Stir in a splash of heavy cream or sour cream just before serving. Change up the flavors by adding in mushrooms. Add sliced mushrooms to the veggie layer for earthy flavor. Can I make this ahead of time? Yes. In fact, any leftovers you have are even more delicious the next day, so certainly you can make this earlier in the day and serve it later on. How do I store leftovers? Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days. You can freeze leftovers in a freezer safe container for up to 3 months.
