As a fan of games that sit right in the 6-7/10 zone (I know a bunch of people just said 'six seven' after reading that, I'm aware of topical things), Crimson Desert is something that's perfect for me. It may not be winning awards for being one of the best RPGs, but a fantasy-style Just Cause-esque sandbox world? Sign me up, and if you're waiting for a sale, why not try your luck with Fanatical's Mystery Star Bundle, get some cheap Steam keys, and potentially, a copy of Crismon Desert - or perhaps another triple-A game, if you're lucky.

Crimson Desert developer Pearl Abyss "sincerely apologizes" for AI-generated assets that are present in the current version, saying it will work to replace them all. Several paintings found across the open-world game had been raising eyebrows for bizarre errors reminiscent of early AI image generation. The game's creator confirms, "Following reports from our community, we have identified that some of these assets were unintentionally included in the final release. This is not in line with our internal standards, and we take full responsibility for it."

The first Ark Survival Ascended TLC patch has been revealed, and the promise of 'Tender Loving Care' isn't quite what comes into my mind when I see it. The Ark Araneo is top of the list, having come out ahead during the Extra Life charity vote that determined which five creatures would be getting a fresh look and feel. Even in the land of the dinosaurs, there's something about giant spiders that always puts me on edge, and what Studio Wildcard has to say isn't helping. You're going to want to look up.

The Marathon Cryo Archive has been roundly conquered at this point, and Bungie's much-touted endgame mission proves that it still knows how to put a memorable encounter together. It's an intricate and unforgiving series of combat encounters and puzzles, fusing the challenge of the best Destiny raids with the multiplayer tension inherent to the extraction shooter. However, after watching the race to a world-first completion play out, and taking feedback from everyone else fighting through the deck of the UESC Marathon, Bungie has acknowledged that it might be a little too restrictive for the average player.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (the 2019 reboot, for those keeping track) has achieved the impressive feat of overtaking its brother on Steam, surpassing the combined player count of the overarching Call of Duty launcher that plays home to Black Ops 7, BO6, and Warzone. How has it done this? It's all thanks to by far the biggest sale Microsoft and Activision have ever deployed on the platform, dropping its price by a whopping 90%, far beyond anything the COD games usually offer. It's a great time to dive in, but could that generosity be a clue to where the series is headed next?

I'm a sucker for action roguelikes in general, but particularly those that have followed in the footsteps of Hades. Like Supergiant's foundational Greek epic, which has sucked about 200 hours out of me, many of them are designed to be games you just keep coming back to. After all, isn't that the roguelike mantra - the promise of near-endless replayability? Yet one of my favorites in recent memory, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die, was over remarkably quickly, especially given the veritable buffet of systems it brings to the party. Rather than being a complaint, however, it's exactly why it works.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 is real, and it's coming this year.
