A land is only as powerful as its leader, and given the state of Skyrim when you load into it, the land is in a bit of trouble. The leaders, simply put, cant even agree on simple politics.

The idea of supporting a game long-term has been... hit or miss, for many studios. Some games don't get the support they need for the longest time, and others are No Man's Sky. Then you have cases like Halo Infinite, where things get over-promised and under-delivered.

One of the biggest strengths of the Borderlands franchise has always been its playable characters. Vault Hunters are people from all walks of life whose personal journeys have taken them on a pursuit of endless riches, glory, or perhaps even redemption, united by a shared love for loot and desire to blow bad guys up.

In anime, its easy to expect over-the-top battles, emotional breakdowns, and last-minute power-ups. But every now and then, a series delivers something you never saw coming, something that recontextualizes everything leading up to that moment. These arent just twists for the sake of shock value. Theyre gut-punches that turn heroes into villains, villains into victims, and entire storylines upside down.

There are plenty of great action roguelikes out on PC. From Hades 2 and Rogue Legacy 2 through to classics like Dead Cells and The Binding of Isaac, there are many options out there already vying for an audience. Soulstone Survivors looks to have captured some of that attention, though, thanks to its colorful blend of Returnal's hectic shooting design, Path of Exile 2's deep customization, and Vampire Survivor's battlefield upgrades. While not reveling in quite the same stratospheric reception that the likes of Repo and Schedule 1 recently enjoyed, new indie co-op game Peak is enjoying a surprisingly huge launch. Shifting over 100,000 copies in a day and sitting on an impressive Steam user rating, it gives me similar vibes to the chaotic clambering and platforming of Chained Together - but incredibly, it was never originally in its developer's long-term plans. The space flight sim genre has largely gone to the wayside. In the past, Star Wars: TIE Fighter, Wing Commander 3, and Freespace 2 were among the most popular videogames available, but, lately, it's hard to find many other options that capture their design ethos, other than the flight segments of No Man's Sky and Star Citizen, or the launch of an occasional throwback like Star Wars: Squadrons.
