You’ll get more oohs than boos when guests see this layered citrusy party drink. Mango-sweetened gelatin, a bubbly orange beverage, and honey-infused whipped cream stand in for the colorful stripes in candy corn. As an alternative, assemble the bright layers in tall glasses for individual servings.

How to Create Even Layers

A tall straight-side pitcher will produce the best effect when layering the elements in this shareable beverage. To ensure the carbonated beverage stays on top of the gelatin mixture, hold a wooden spoon, back side up, above the gelatin layer and pour the beverage over the back of the spoon.

Ingredients

  • 1 (3-oz.) pkg. lemon-flavor gelatin

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 cups mango nectar

  • 3 1/2 cups orange carbonated beverage, chilled

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 2 Tbsp. honey

  • Candy corn

Directions

  1. Pour Layers

In a large bowl stir together gelatin and boiling water until dissolved. Stir in mango nectar. Pour mixture into a tall, clear 2-qt. pitcher. Chill 2 hours or until thickened but not set. Gently pour orange carbonated beverage over gelatin layer in pitcher.

  2. Finish and Serve

In a large bowl combine heavy cream and honey. Beat with a mixer on medium to high just until stiff peaks form (tips stand straight). Spoon over top layer in pitcher. If you like, top whipped cream with candy corn. Before serving, stir to muddle. Makes 8 servings.
