Best gaming monitor deal: 44% off 27-inch QHD LG UltraGear

Fast gaming monitors can get expensive quickly once you start adding a higher resolution and other luxuries into the mix, but Amazon’s latest LG UltraGear discount brings them all together without pushing the price anywhere near $500. 

As of July 13, the LG 27-inch UltraGear gaming monitor (27GR83Q-B SKU) is on sale for $279.99 at Amazon. With this $220 cut from its $499.99 list price, that takes 44% off the QHD display altogether. It's also shipped by Amazon directly, and you’ll get free delivery currently set for July 19, or July 14 for Prime members at the time of writing. 

Among the specs you get in return, the 27-inch IPS panel runs at a 2560x1440 resolution, giving you a sharper image than full HD while remaining less demanding than 4K. As with other types of monitors we’ve seen in the past, being able to push 1440p is a nice middle ground for gaming PC rigs to achieve higher frame rates while still maintaining high resolution. 

On the speed side of things, both its HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 support refresh rates of up to 240Hz, while the 1ms gray-to-gray response time should help keep movement crisp during faster games like Apex Legends and Overwatch. 

Even when you’re playing immersive single-player games along the lines of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, you can revel in smoother action while exploring the open world — also enjoying the higher resolution all in one.
