Sonic the Hedgehog is a beloved franchise that has survived the test of time, and the latest Sonic Rumble system requirements point towards an incredibly accessible game that will run on just about any entry-level PC or laptop, even one that's a decade old.

This online co-op version of Sonic puts us in mind of Fall Guys with a SEGA twist and, as can be expected, barely demands anything from your gaming laptop or PC. In fact, you won't need anything nearly as powerful as the best graphics card on our buying guide to get Sonic Rumble running at its very best. You won't even need a high-powered processor, as hardware from 2012 is enough to get this contender for best battle royale games running.

Here are the Sonic Rumble system requirements:

Minimum Recommended
OS Windows 10 or later Windows 10 or later
GPU Nvidia GeForce GT 630
AMD Radeon R7 240
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050
AMD Radeon RX 460
VRAM 2GB 2GB
CPU Intel Pentium G3260
AMD A8-7650K
Intel Core i3-8100
AMD Ryzen 3 3100
RAM 4GB 8GB
Storage 7GB 7GB

Assuming you aren't running ancient hardware from the Windows XP era, the Sonic Rumble minimum requirements will pose no challenge to anyone. You'll only need an Nvidia GeForce GT 630 or AMD Radeon R7 270 GPU with 2GB of VRAM, an Intel Pentium G3260 or AMD A8-7650K CPU, and 4GB of RAM. You could almost argue that Windows 10 is the toughest element of these minimum specs.

The Sonic Rumble recommended specs aren't much more difficult to meet, only requiring an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 460 GPU, both of which are nearly 10 years old at the time of writing. You'll also need an Intel Core i3 8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU paired with 8GB of RAM to meet the recommended specs. These requirements are so surprisingly low that they'll even meet the recommended specs for Sonic Origins, a SEGA game from 2022.

It's unclear what sort of performance you can expect to get, as SEGA has not released any benchmarks, but we'd expect the game to run at roughly 60fps at 1080p on an GTX 1050 or Radeon RX 460 GPU, even if you don't adjust any of the Sonic Rumble settings.

The Sonic Rumble download size is also tiny, requiring just 7GB of storage space. The developer hasn't stated that an SSD is required, and it's very likely that the game will run on a traditional hard drive, considering the game will run on some really old hardware. That said, you may want to consider getting one of the best gaming SSDs from our buying guide anyway if your rig is overdue for an upgrade.
