Does it get better than French onion dip and wavy potato chips by the pool? I don't think so. I've been making this back-of-package French onion dip recipe from Lipton for decades, but recently revived it for my summer parties. And I'm so glad I did. This retro dip disappears faster than anything else on the table, and all it takes to make is one inexpensive seasoning packet and sour cream.

How to Make Lipton's French Onion Dip
Originally marketed as "California Dip" in the 1950s, there's not much to making this 2-ingredient appetizer at home. Simply mix a packet of Lipton's Onion Soup Mix with a 16 oz. container of sour cream. I find this dip is best the next day, so let it chill in the fridge overnight before serving.
