How to use a Starsand Island Flawed Chest
How to use a Starsand Island Flawed Chest
How do you use a Flawed Chest in Starsand Island? Even in early access, there are plenty of secrets to uncover in Starsand Island. Not only can you find treasure chests across the island itself and in the Moonlit Forest, but some bonus chests can be found by digging, fishing, and farming.
Using our Starsand Island gift guide, you can earn access to residents' homes to find hidden chests. Flawed Chests, meanwhile, are special, nautical-themed chests that, inexplicably, can be found by using a Moonlit Forest treasure map in the life game. In lakes, meanwhile, you may dredge up a Destroyed Chest. Neither can be placed like an ordinary storage chest - at least until you open them. If you're struggling, here's how to access and use these special Starsand Island Chests.

When you obtain a Flawed Chest, you can't place it right away. First, open your bag with 'B', right-click on the Flawed Chest, and select 'Use'. This triggers one of two results: you'll collect a Flawed Chest item, which can be placed and used as a storage box, or you'll receive the contents of the chest - usually coins.
Finding Flawed Chests and Destroyed Chests is a great way to earn bonus money in the farming game, so it's always worth following any treasure maps to their destination. Early on in the farming game, Flawed Chests are also valuable storage items, thanks to their 32-slot capacity, the equivalent of tier 2 crafted storage boxes. Destroyed Chests, meanwhile, have a much smaller capacity, the equivalent of tier 1 storage boxes, so aren't as useful.
With the Flawed Chest now easily accessible in your inventory, who knows what treasures you may come across? As you're following treasure maps through the Moonlit Forest, you may find yourself stuck behind looming bronze gates, requiring two mysterious ruins keys. Our guide can help you find them and continue your treasure hunt.
