AMD has just unleashed its latest budget gaming GPU, and so far it looks as though the company's MSRP pricing is holding up, with stock available to buy, even in the US. The new AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT comes in two versions, with 8GB cards starting from $299, and 16GB cards starting from $349, giving the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 a serious run for its money.

As I found in my AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT review, this new AMD GPU is seriously capable, particularly if you buy the 16GB version, as it not only enables you to max out lots of the latest games at 1080p, but it even runs them well at 2,560 x 1,440. The 16GB version costs $50 more than the RTX 5060, but the extra memory opens up settings that you simply can't run on the RTX 5060.

However, I was worried that stock would sell out instantly, and that the quoted MSRPs would soon become the stuff of fairytales. Thankfully, stock appears to be plentiful, though it's also selling quickly.

Not only is the card still readily available at US retailers such as Newegg, but UK retailer Overclockers has been showing off huge towers of stock ready for the launch. Let's hope it lasts and that it doesn't quickly sell out, with replenished stock going for much higher prices, as we saw with the Radeon RX 9070 launch.

If you're in the US, you can currently buy an 8GB Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 9060 XT for $299.99, just as promised. Sadly, all the MSRP 16GB cards sold out quickly, but you can find overclocked models at still very reasonable prices, including the 16GB ASRock Challenger 9060 XT OC that I tested for my review for $349.99. Meanwhile, in the UK, you can pick up an 8GB card for just £269.99, and a 16GB card for £314.99. Even though the 8GB card saves you some money, though, I recommend paying the extra money for the 16GB version.

As I found in my testing, 16GB of VRAM enables you to even play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle at Ultra settings at 2,560 x 1,440, when the RTX 5060 can't even do it at 1,920 x 1,080. It copes really well with Doom The Dark Ages and Call of Duty Black Ops 6 as well.
