Battlefield 6 challenges will now waste far less of your time, as dev thanks players for a "storm of feedback"

Many Battlefield 6 challenges and assignments have just been made dramatically easier to complete, as lead producer David Sirland thanks players for a "storm of feedback" regarding the most pressing gripes with the FPS game. Checking off the list of tasks to reach major milestones with various weapons and tools can be an arduous job, and Battlefield Studios says these adjustments are designed to "bring their requirements in line" with the intended time for completion, and "to make them more achievable within a reasonable session length."

The new Battlefield 6 update has just been pushed to servers, so you should immediately notice the tweaks, which include "significant reductions to challenge requirements, cutting down on time investment while maintaining a focus on skill-driven progression that rewards consistent play." The team isn't joking about them being big, either. The challenge to have squadmates deploy on your Spawn Beacon has been dropped from 50 to five, while the revive target for support players is down from 200 to 60.

On the assignments side, Battlefield Studios says these "will continue to range from goals you can complete through regular play to a few that reward true mastery, particularly those tied to cosmetic items." It explains that "some of the original criteria did not fully reflect that intent, and we have updated them to make their difficulty and purpose clearer." Weapon-based assignments are "significantly simplified;" one assault rifle challenge now requires 3,000 damage rather than 10,000, for example.

Mode-specific assignments now require a standardized two wins per tier, while 'mastery' style goals that acknowledge your play "have been adjusted to better match the natural rhythm of gameplay" rather than requiring you to hit "rare, outlier achievements." As a couple of examples, you'll now need five multi-kills with explosives rather than 20, or 500 total vehicle damage repaired in a single life, down from 3,000.

In total, Battlefield Studios says it has made over 90 adjustments across the current list of challenges and assignments. Sirland, meanwhile, has been actively gathering more feedback via social media, and says, "Thanks for all the posts - keep 'em coming. Need to go action on a bunch of this now, so going a little inactive here for a bit. Still seeing and listening to all of that, though."
