What is the best MXR-17 loadout in Black Ops 7? With limited weapons to choose from in the BO7 beta, the MXR-17 is the standout assault rifle. Despite its low range, it packs a serious wallop straight out of the box, so improve its speed and range with the best build, and you've got a killing machine in your hands.

Black Ops is doing something a bit different this time around, bringing BO7 maps, Operators, and even weapons into the future with a story set in 2035. We're fairly certain the military won't look like this in ten years, but who are we to say? Anyway, this means all new Black Ops 7 weapons and loadouts, as well as some modern throwables and new perks. • Rear Grip: Aria Assail Grip

Perhaps the most important attachment here is the 18″ Rift-M7 Barrel, which improves the damage range on the previously low-range gun. Add the Monolithic Suppressor for further buffs to range and firepower. The latter does nerf your ADS and steadiness, but we're countering that with a rear grip.

We'd personally go for the Celerity Grip at this point, which vastly improves ADS speed. However, given the importance of movement in Black Ops 7 - and we know how much CoD players love their movement - the Aria Assail Grip is probably better for most. This rear grip attachment improves dive-to-fire speed, slide-to-fire speed, ADS speed, and jumping ADS, providing essential buffs while wall-jumping and throwing yourself around the map.

The LTI Mini optic is entirely optional, but we prefer the improvement to accuracy. You could take the extended mag as an alternative, but this only adds five bullets to each reload, so it isn't massively worthwhile with the increased accuracy.

For your class build, you could add a sniper rifle as your secondary if you want something with longer range. However, we're leaning into the close and mid-range for this class build, which is all you really need given the size of the maps in the BO7 beta, especially now we've improved the range of the MXR-27.

That said, chuck the M10 Breacher shotgun on as your secondary weapon, which is capable of one-shot kills at close range. We're then utilizing our melee weapon for truly close encounters with the Close Shave and Bruiser perks. Close Shave enables you to attack with your melee weapon instead of the butt of your gun, while Bruiser then replenishes your health when you kill with a melee attack. Completing the set with Gung Ho grants the Enforcer Specialty, which buffs your health regen and movement speed after each kill.

We found we ran out of ammo a couple of times between deaths with this gun and the Enforcer Specialty, so we highly recommend taking the simple but effective Assault Pack as your Field Upgrade. Meanwhile, the new Pinpoint Grenade is a great way to get the drop on your enemies, while the Cluster Grenade deals damage in a large area of effect.

We'll take another look at this BO7 MXR-17 loadout when the full game launches, but it's certainly our favorite kit for getting kills in the beta right now.
