I've been rather cynical about the horror genre as a whole for many years now, because, aside from the spooky Goliath that is Resident Evil, the genre has been reliant on indie gems and remakes to stay afloat. Which is a roundabout way of saying, it's hard to make a new and interesting horror IP.
