Speaking as someone who was born at the tail-end of the Nintendo/Sega console wars, its a little difficult for me to put into words just how fierce the competition was. Segas tagline for a time was literally Genesis does what NintenDont, so the very idea of playing Sega console games on a Nintendo platform was borderline sacrilege.
