A kitten raised in the shelter brought joy to everyone, especially one cat who needed someone to lean on. Ramses and GomezDorset Rescue KittensGomez, a striking white kitten with gray patches, arrived at Dorset Rescue Kittens in search of a brighter future. Friendly, curious, and endlessly adventurous, he quickly won the hearts of everyone at the shelter."He is a smart little feline, always eager to explore and learn new things. He's often found at the highest point within his nimble reach. His playful and energetic nature means he's always ready for a game or two," Dorset Rescue Kittens shared.Growing up at the shelter, Gomez became a source of joy for all, especially for a resident cat named Ramses. GomezDorset Rescue KittensRamses came to the rescue more than two years ago while battling a urinary tract infection. Thanks to dedicated care and a special diet, he regained health and has remained stable ever since. "He is a regal, intelligent, and loyal cat who balances independence with affection."As a long-term resident, Ramses often offers cuddles to staff and volunteers alike. "Once he trusts you, his loyalty is unwavering. His companionship is both comforting and steadfast." RamsesDorset Rescue KittensWhen Gomez developed a urinary tract infection, he was placed on the same special diet as Ramses. Their paths soon crossed in the office, and something just clicked. Gomez's boundless energy and youthful spirit instantly drew Ramses to him.Usually a quiet observer, Ramses approached the kitten and gently took him under his wing. Dorset Rescue KittensFrom that day on, they became inseparable. Ramses embraced the role of mentor, guiding the kitten in the ways of a cat. "They are often found snoozing together in their favorite beds."The pair would alternate napping spots around the office, grooming each other until they drifted off to the rhythm of their purrs. When not curled up in a cozy bed, they could be found lounging by a computer, as if supervising the staff at work. Dorset Rescue KittensTogether, they became the shelter's welcoming committee, greeting visitors and stretching out beside staff members as soon as work began. Always side by side, they were like two peas in a pod. Ramses would lean against Gomez, who happily offered himself as a pillow."Gomez brings youthful energy and a curious, loving personality that complements Ramses' calm and wise nature. Together, they're the perfect mix of wisdom and youth." Dorset Rescue Kittens"They lived (together) in our office for over eight months, so we truly got to know them," the rescue added. "They are some of the most loving cats we've ever met. They are outgoing and love to be anywhere their people are. They readily get along with the many cats who come through our doors."Despite their health challenges, both cats have flourished since finding each other. Dorset Rescue KittensA few weeks ago, Gomez turned one year old in the office with Ramses by his side. "Most cats would spend their first birthday with their forever family. But Gomez has never known anything outside the rescue."Now bonded for life, Gomez and Ramses cannot be separated. They dream of finding a forever home together, where they'll never have to part. Dorset Rescue KittensTo Ramses, Gomez is a ray of sunshine who lifted his quiet spirit. To Gomez, Ramses is a mentor and steadfast friend, passing down his feline wisdom. Though they each arrived at the rescue separately, fate brought them together.And while they continue to brighten the office with their purrs and affection, they hope their happily-ever-after will soon find them.
