When we talk about games taking the world by storm, my mind always thinks back to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the pandemic, or Baldur's Gate 3 reaching a worldwide audience that nobody, not even Larian, could have imagined. While a slightly smaller scale, Helldivers 2 had a similar impact when it launched, in my friendship group at least.
