I remember back in the early-to-mid 2010s, prequels suddenly became the hot ticket in the gaming sphere. We got so many new prequels, Borderlands even released The Pre-Sequel as a deliberate riff on the practice. While some believe that prequels are a bit of a lazy substitute for a proper sequel, I like to view things a little more optimistically.
