An orphan kitten met another cat who desperately wanted a companion. Now, they can't get enough of each other.XavierWith GraceAbout a month ago, Danielle Chavez, the founder of With Grace, was contacted about a tiny kitten found in a feral cat colony.The mother cat left her two kittens behind after giving birth, and Xavier (the orange and white kitten) was the only survivor. Though the finder waited for hours, the mother never returned. "Thankfully, we have a pretty tight-knit rescue community," Danielle shared with Love Meow.Without missing a beat, she offered her help.With GraceThey gently warmed the kitten back to a healthy body temperature and started a round-the-clock feeding schedule. Nestled in a cozy incubator with a faux mama for company, the kitten fell fast asleep in his snug new nest."Once we got over the initial dehydration and got him warmed up, he's been a dream to care for."With GraceXavier's strong will to live shone through as he eagerly latched onto his bottle. With his foster parents' dedicated care, he quickly developed a healthy, round belly."As soon as we got him, our priority was finding a buddy around his age. [Single kittens] develop what's called Single Kitten Syndrome, so we do everything we possibly can to find them a buddy."With GraceAround that time, Danielle came across a post about another kitten in need that had been found in the community; he looked clean and healthy."It was clear that he had a good mama. This happens all too oftenwell-meaning citizens find a kitten alone and think the mama took off when, in reality, she was probably hiding or getting food somewhere."TristanWith Grace"We need to leave them be unless they are sick, or we are 100% sure Mama is not coming back. Kittens should only be removed when they are old enough to be away from their mother. In such cases, the mother should be trapped and spayed afterward."The newcomer, Tristan, arrived with stomach troubles, but with proper treatment, he was quickly on the mend.With Grace"Tristan is the sweetest little guy ever. He starts purring the moment you even glance in his direction. He's incredibly lovable, and his fluff is so soft. I just know he's going to be someone's soul cat."When Tristan discovered there was another kitten in the house, he was over the moon.With GraceOnce both kittens were given clean bills of health, it was time for their big introduction. Tristan was thrilled, eager to romp around, while Xavier was a bit surprised by his new buddy's enthusiasm. But it didn't take long for Xavier to warm up to him."Soon, Xavier was wrestling with Tristan, and the rest is history."Tristan and XavierWith Grace"Every time we walk into the foster room, they are either cuddling or playing together."Though they came from different mothers, they proved to be a perfect pair, their adorable personalities complementing each other beautifully. "Xavier is a little more reserved, while Tristan will start purring if you even look his way. They both just want to be picked up and loved on all of the time."With GraceXavier goes on new adventures with his best friend, who is constantly on the lookout for mischief.
