A nervous mother may decide at any moment to move her babies somewhere she feels is safer, vanishing with them before rescuers ever get a chance. Alexandra knew the risk, and every day she hoped the family would stay put a little longer.With construction rumbling nearby and people coming and going, each day the litter stayed felt like a small miracle. Alexandra had already asked for help the moment she realized the litter needed more than she could give alone. A woman named Jackeline went out to carefully trap the kittens, and their mother along with them. She was safely trapped, spayed, and returned to the neighborhood she knows as home, no longer at risk of raising litter after litter out in the elements. Her babies, meanwhile, were lifted out of harm's way and into the foster care of Alexandra.Safe indoors at last, the four wasted no time showing everyone who they are. They are sweet, playful, and overflowing with affection, and now that the noise and danger are behind them, they can do the real work of being kittens, tumbling, exploring, and soaking up every bit of the attention they missed. Harry is the all-orange one, the group's explorer of the group, the first to investigate a new corner or scale something he probably should not.Then come the calico sisters. Cowgirl wears a splash of orange across her face, and Gizmo is the darker of the two, more black than anything, with a white bib.
