Though I adore the Metroidvania genre, I'm also completely enthralled by a good mystery; the horror of the unknown, mixed with a ticking clock and dangerous forces makes for a heady mix. It's a theme that many Metroidvanias do exceptionally well, especially some of those that are more traditional examples, like Super Metroid.
