She was there for a mother cat and her litter, a rescue already planned and already full.Shelter staff asked if she could take one more. A single kitten, alone, running out of time, with no litter and no plan in place for her at all. Most people are taught not to pick up hitchhikers. That rule has never applied to kittens, and Casey with Cap City Cats was not about to start now. At just five weeks old, Soliloquy was less than half the size she should have been, thin and covered in wounds that needed immediate attention. Whatever it was, Soliloquy did not look like she planned on losing. Somewhere in that first stretch of care, tucked between feedings and naps, she figured out what her back legs were for.She has not stopped moving since, and she does not seem interested in starting. Clara Bow, another cat in the household, has taken to keeping watch from just outside the incubator, waiting patiently for her turn to deliver an unlimited supply of kisses to the newest and loudest member of the family.The energy she brings to every corner of the foster room makes it easy to forget she is still in the middle of a recovery. A kitten who once could not stand on her own back legs now treats every square inch of the foster room as if it were hers.Between wrestling matches, there is still a lot of sleep to catch up on. Soliloquy does everything at full volume, including rest, and when she finally goes down, she goes down completely, on her back, paws in the air, utterly unbothered by the world.
