Sometimes, getting invested in a JRPG can feel like a situationship that falls apart before becoming an actual relationship. You spend all this time getting invested in the story, its characters, and the wider world, yet, once the game ends, that's it. The next game in the franchise takes place in an entirely new location, with new characters who seemingly know nothing of the events of the prior game.
