The core ethics of the DOOM franchise have been in place since the original game launched back in 1993. Speed, visceral carnage and complete madness at nearly every corner are at the heart of the series. I absolutely love DOOM 3, and will defend it until the bitter end, but there was a certain shift the series underwent during that time.
