I think a big part of what endeared so many people to Undertale back in the day was the games distinctly off-kilter vibe. Toby Fox is a known fan of similarly odd games like Earthbound, and it shows in most of his work, from the settings to the characters to the mechanics. Naturally, Deltarune is no exception to this, but theres a certain something about Deltarune thats a little more distinctly weird than Undertale.
