Part of what keeps Deltarune firmly planted in peoples minds despite its lengthy release schedule is commitment to playing the long game. This manifests in the enduring mysteries of its major story and lore, of course, but also in its characters and their individual motivations. Much like Undertale before it, Deltarune is good at introducing a character and setting them to be a very specific type of character, only to subvert that expectation later on.
