Back in the day, video games shipped with an ancient relic known as a game manual. Developers genuinely expected players to read those sacred written texts to grasp how the mechanics worked before diving headfirst into the mystical, daunting worlds of JRPGs. Newsflash: that didn't happen, and most of us (at least speaking from personal experience here) just booted up the game without reading a single word.
