The resources you find and gather in Subnautica 2 aren't all equally useful. While items like Titanium seem to be used for almost every craft, items like Lead are only useful for one main craft. However, the one main craft is the unknown tool that you'll be asked to make, and it's actually the Sonic Resonator, which is used for mining and breaking Bloom Biofilm.
