Yolanda Saldvar had founded Selenas fan club and eventually became manager of her two clothing boutiques.In early 1995, the Quintanilla family suspected that Saldvar had been embezzling funds from the boutiques, and Selena arranged to meet Saldvar at a Corpus Christi motel on March 31, 1995, to retrieve missing bank statements and take back control of her finances.Where Did Selena Die And How Did It Happen?What happened next unfolded in Room 158 (now renumbered 150) in whats now a Red Roof Inn, but was then a Days Inn.Saldvar shot Selena in the back with a .38-caliber revolver, and Selena ran for her life. She got to the lobby, leaving a 392-foot trail of blood in her wake. And before she lost consciousness, she used her last bit of strength to identify her killer.
