The writing is on the wall for private World of Warcraft server network Turtle WoW. The District Court of California has ruled in favor of Activision Blizzard on the copyright infringement lawsuit filed in August against the group of fan-operated private servers. The ruling includes an immediate cease and desist order for Turtle WoW, which provides a range of alternative versions of the MMORPG on privately hosted servers. While Blizzard and Turtle WoW have reached a settlement in the wake of this decision, it's likely this will spell the end for the third-party group.
