They Take in a Cat Found Near the Woods Just in Time, So Her Kittens Won't Be Out in the Cold
They took in a cat found near the woods just in time so her kittens wouldn't have to be born in the cold. TheStrayCatClubA heavily pregnant cat was spotted near a wooded area known to have foxes. Realizing it was unsafe for her to remain outside, the person who found her reached out for help.Eventually, they connected with The Stray Cat Club, a volunteer-run rescue. The team stepped in and welcomed the expectant mother with open arms. Though she didn't have a microchip, she was finally safe indoors."She won't have to give birth outside in the cold or face it alone," the rescue shared. TheStrayCatClubPosts were shared locally in hopes of finding her owner, but no one came forward to claim her.Shortly after arriving in foster care, the cat, named Sarsaparilla, began nesting. With a dedicated family caring for her, she would have support through birth and beyond. "Whatever her story, she deserves that much." TheStrayCatClubSoon, it became clear that she would need more help than anyone at the rescue had anticipated.Sarsaparilla delivered one kitten early, who was sadly stillborn. Thankfully, after several veterinary checks, including an ultrasound, the remaining kittens appeared strong. The rescue team monitored the mom closely, ready to step in whenever needed. TheStrayCatClub"We want to make sure we can give her and the kittens any help they deserve."About two days later, Sarsaparilla calmly welcomed three healthy kittens into the world. There were no complications, and the devoted mama immediately got to work, cleaning, nursing, and tending to her newborns' every need. TheStrayCatClub"After the loss of her first kitten and the long hours of monitoring, scans, and vet visits, seeing her deliver so smoothly feels like a huge exhale." Thankfully, this will be Sarsaparilla's last litter, bringing the cycle to an end.Volunteers kept a close eye on the little family to ensure the mom had all the support she needed. Sarsaparilla was attentive and nurturing, rarely leaving her kittens' side. TheStrayCatClubOver the next few weeks, the kittens grew by leaps and bounds, and their curiosity soared. As soon as they felt a little strength in their legs, they began moving about, taking their first wobbly steps into the world around them.Though still finding their footing, they were fearless little explorers, constantly trying to escape the nest and keeping their mom on her toes. TheStrayCatClub"We love seeing these siblings thriving after having the fortune of being born in our care rather than on a rooftop, in a garden, or out in the woods like so many others."The kittens have started sampling solid food, though they still happily line up beside their mom to nurse. Sarsaparilla watches the trio proudly as they reach one milestone after another. TheStrayCatClubTwo of the kittens are tuxedos, while the third is a tabby who looks like their mom.At about one month old, their personalities are beginning to emerge. They bounce around with growing confidence, pouncing, hopping sideways to look tough, and tumbling into playful wrestling matches with one another. TheStrayCatClubSarsaparilla continues to be the best mom to her precious trio, keeping them out of trouble and making sure they are always clean from head and tail. Thanks to the dedication of many volunteers, this little family is thriving in foster care. From now on, they'll only know comfort, safety, and love. TheStrayCatClubShare this story with your friends.
