They Give Shelter Kitten New Start, She Clings to Resident Dog and Cat, Making up for Lost Time
They gave a shelter kitten a fresh start. She clung to their resident dog and cat, making up for lost time. April WeberA Good Samaritan found a tiny tabby and brought her to the shelter, hoping to give her a chance at a better life. When the rescue coordinator from Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue saw the kitten at the shelter, she didn't hesitate to take her in. But she didn't leave with just one that day. Two other kittens were also rescued.Though the three had arrived separately, they were close in age, and their journeys would continue together. April WeberApril Weber, a dedicated foster volunteer, welcomed the trio into her home. Teensy, the tabby, popped out of her carrier, curious about her new surroundings, but it didn't take long for April to realize that something wasn't right."Teensy especially got quite sick, stopped gaining weight, and became pretty lethargic," April told Love Meow. Itty, Bitty, and TeensyEmilie Rackovan and April WeberWith round-the-clock care and close monitoring, Teensy slowly turned a corner. Once she began gaining weight and strength, her personality blossomed. "Now, she's a sweet, adorable love bug who adores everyone."While Teensy enjoys racing around the house with her adopted sisters, Itty and Bitty, she's especially drawn to the resident dog, Mabel, and the resident cat, Benji. April WeberMabel, the gentle and nurturing pup, has a soft spot for foster kittens. She immediately took the newcomers under her wing, snuggling up with them and offering comfort and reassurance. Teensy was thrilled to have a nap buddy who made sure she was never alone. While the other kittens zipped through the house in playful chaos, Teensy was content curled up beside Mabel, purring herself to sleep. Mabel and TeensyApril WeberAfter a rough start and days spent fighting to survive, Teensy is making up for lost time by showering everyone around her with affection. She loves with her whole heart, soaking up every cuddle she can get.She can be found tucked under Mabel, fast asleep and completely at peace. April WeberBenji, the resident cat who adores kittens, has also become a source of comfort for Teensy. As an orphan, Teensy longs for that motherly love, and she melts into a puddle whenever Benji tends to her. In those moments, everything feels right."She was very happy to drift off to sleep while Benji gave her a good groom." Benji and TeensyApril Weber"All three kittens love to snuggle, purr, and constantly play. They sleep in our bed, but they're also wild and love to climb up our Christmas tree. I'm so grateful to have Teensy and her sisters here indoors. If they hadn't been found, they would be outside in this freezing weather."After weeks in foster care, the kittens are healthy, happy, and ready for their happily-ever-after. Itty, Bitty, and MabelApril Weber"One of the best things," April added, "is that the person who originally found Teensy and brought her to the shelter is planning on adopting her."They never forgot the tiny kitten they helped, and now are ready to make her dreams come true, just in time for the holidays. Her sisters, Itty and Bitty, are still searching for their forever family. "We'd love to see them go home together." April WeberMabel and Benji continue to offer comfort to those who need it most, especially the shy little ones. Thanks to their foster home, Teensy and her sisters are thriving, with bright futures filled with love and holiday spoils. April WeberShare this story with your friends.
