Person Hears a Kitten at Shopping Center Then Finds Her Alone in the Cold, Changing the Cat's Life that Day
A kind person heard a kitten crying at a shopping center and then found her alone in the cold, changing her life that day. BoxieMonicaTwo weeks ago, a Good Samaritan was walking through a small shopping center when she heard the faint cries of a kitten. She followed the tiny voice to the doorstep of a restaurant called The Box Seat and saw a pint-sized kitten curled into herself for warmth. Temperatures were near freezing, and the little one clearly needed help.Without hesitation, the finder scooped up the kitten and rushed her to the nearest vet's office, Cat Care Hospital. Sarah Kelly"They quickly warmed her up with blankets and, of course, snuggles," Monica, a foster volunteer with Murphy's Law Animal Rescue, told Love Meow.Once the kitten's temperature stabilized, the vet team examined her and treated her for fleas and stomach issues. "Her belly was quite round, so she almost certainly had worms. They estimated her to be about 4-5 weeks old and just a bit over a pound." MonicaThe kitten, named Boxie after the restaurant where she was found, had arrived at the vet's at the right time.As luck would have it, Sarah Kelly, founder of Murphy's Law Animal Rescue, was at the clinic that morning. When staff asked if the rescue had room for one more kitten, Sarah didn't think twice. MonicaSarah left the clinic with little Boxie tucked safely in a carrier, leaving behind the cold and the uncertainty of street life.Monica welcomed Boxie into her foster home and set up a cozy area with a warming pad, fresh food, water, and all the essentials. "Boxie was so hungry. She ate almost three portions of the kitten food. With a full belly and a warm bed, she couldn't even keep her head up before falling fast asleep." MonicaBoxie's finder and the veterinary staff searched the area again for any other kittens or a mother cat, but none were found. After a few days of care, Boxie's eyes cleared up and brightened, and her energy surged. She discovered a love for "soccer," batting toys around the room, and her adventurous spirit grew stronger each day. Yet for all her pep, the world seemed to pause the moment she curled up for a nap. MonicaTwo weeks after her arrival, Boxie was ready to meet the resident cat, Mozzie, and she couldn't have been more thrilled. She even greeted her friend with a playful bop on the nose before heading off on her next adventure.Fearless, Boxie marched onto the screened-in porch as if she owned the place. Mozzie and BoxieMonicaWhen she isn't racing through the house like a tiny tornado, Boxie loves being cradled in Monica's hand for belly tickles or sitting on her chest like a supervisor overseeing all operations. She is endlessly curious, darting in and out of cardboard boxes and inventing her own games as she goes. "Playful and curious describe her perfectly as well as beautiful, with her big eyes." Monica"Last night she slept right next to me, curled up in my arm. She seems to love life and is making the most of it," Monica shared. "She was rescued for a special reason: there is a sweet soul out there who is about to meet their new best friend. We look forward to introducing them."Her most prized possession is a plush blue octopus she cuddles with at nap time. MonicaThe once cold and hungry kitten from the shopping center is now thriving in her foster home. She brings laughter and warmth to everyone she meets, filling each room with purrs, affection, and endless antics. MonicaShare this story with your friends.
