To paraphrase a certain critic, I dont like video games, I love them. It is precisely because I love them that it frustrates me to see the medium not living up to its potential as both consumable entertainment and an art form. Games are wonderful, creative things that give you new ways to have fun or challenge your preconceptions with interactive narratives. Unfortunately, as with any industry that deals in fun, many have sought shortcuts in trends that trade genuine creativity for the promise of an easy payday.
