AMD Radeon GPU market share just fell to its lowest ever level, Nvidia dominates
After its new GPUs failed to chart in the last two Steam Hardware Surveys, AMD has been dealt another blow in the graphics card stats world. According to the latest figures, AMD Radeon GPU market share has now tumbled to its lowest ever figure, falling from 15% at the end of 2024 to just 8% for the first quarter of 2025.That time period accounts for the first three months of 2025, which included the release of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT on March 6, a card that we praised as the best gaming GPU in its league, but which has been a struggle to find in stock at its MSRP since launch. There is a bigger picture here, of course, including the fact that Nvidia released two new high-end GPUs in January, in a market sector where AMD doesnt provide any competition, with the RTX 5070 series also launching later in the quarter.
