Cat Wanders into a Backyard, Peering Through the Back Door, Until She Has What She Came for
A stray cat appeared in a backyard, peering through the back door, until she had what she had come for. OlafHannahA curious young cat wandered into a family's backyard, pressing her nose against the glass door as if mesmerized by the world inside. She might have been attracted by the two resident cats, who occasionally had supervised outside time. Perhaps she had seen them before and followed their lead. Hannah's little nephew was instantly smitten and gave her a name on the spotOlaf.Hannah told Love Meow, "She would walk right up to the door and look inside, like, 'Hello, can I please come in now?'" Hannah"We fed her while my nephew watched from the other side of the door, and the next day she came back for more. She was quick to rub up on my nephew's legs and wasn't scared of adult humans either."On her third visit, they noticed small cuts on her face and dirt on her paws. That's when they realized she needed help. HannahOlaf let them scoop her up and settle her in a room of her own. At first, she tucked herself behind some boxes in the office, peeking out cautiously. But her curiosity soon outweighed her nerves, and she began venturing out.Following a vet checkup that showed she had no microchip, Olaf began to embrace her new life indoors. HannahThough still too shy to play, Olaf brushed against everyone's legs, flopped beside them, and happily soaked up chin scratches and pets.As a volunteer with Whiskers-a-GoGo, a local rescue, Hannah knew just what to do. She offered to foster Olaf so the cat could continue building trust in a safe, loving home. While the nephew's family was unable to keep the cat due to other pets and circumstances, they were comforted knowing she was in good hands. HannahOlaf took her time exploring every corner of her new space, making herself at home. Once she settled in, she began seeking out affection from her foster mom.She has transformed into a "social girl" with endless curiosity, mixed with a touch of shyness that comes and goes. She'll investigate the bathroom sink, bathtub, closet, or whatever you are doing before deciding if she wants to be part of it. HannahWith a fondness for bird-watching and surveying her kingdom from above, Olaf has claimed her favorite perches by the window and even on top of a door. "Give her a high surface she can get to and she'll jump up there and check it out."Her inner huntress shines when she plays with a mechanical feather toy that spins beneath a little fabric skirt, her eyes gleaming with focus. HannahOlaf has blossomed into a true people-cat. She's unfazed by household noise and activityif anything, she prefers it to a quiet home.Sometimes, she lounges on the couch, sitting upright like a little human. She also takes her role as bathroom guard very seriously, keeping her people safe. "She'd be an amazing family cat, providing entertainment and cuddles for everyone." HannahWhen she's not chasing toys or watching "bird TV" from the window, Olaf loves to burrow into blankets, turning herself into a cozy little cocoon.During the day, she curls up on her foster mom's lap, keeping her company while she works. At night, she follows her to her bedroom, nestles by her feet, and purrs herself to sleep. HannahShe adores napping on people, as if they were her pillow or bed. "She will snuggle up (on us), show her belly, and even accept belly rubs."From a stray peeking through a glass door to a beloved house cat, Olaf has come a long way. She's a silly love bug, ready to bring joy, laughter, and endless entertainment to a forever home of her own. HannahShare this story with your friends.
