WWW.PCGAMESN.COMILL is real, and it might be the most brutal horror FPS since the original FEARIts the very first concept trailer for ILL that really sticks in the mind. All of 60 seconds long - and, as it happens, set in an entirely different location to the actual, real game - it nevertheless encompasses the vision of developer Team Clout. Combat is slow and weighty. The enemies are strange, frightening, and governed by a complex physics system. Theres a lot of gore. In the four years since ILL first emerged, weve seen dozens of short concept videos and hints of gameplay, but for the most part, the hybrid horror FPS has been an enigma. Theres a Steam page and a few social channels, but we dont really know what its about, how it works, whos making it, and how its meant to play. Now, finally, alongside a reveal at SGF, ILLs director speaks to PCGamesN about the games history and inspirations. From what weve seen and heard, ILL is partly a mix of FEAR, Half-Life 2, and Soldier of Fortune - but even then, theres more than meets the eye. WWW.PCGAMESN.COMAtomic Heart 2 is keeping the "craziness," with even more horny robotsI consider myself a bit of a shower philosopher. Some of the best articles I've ever written came to me during early morning steam sessions; it's where I ask myself questions and attempt to work out the answers. As a history and war studies graduate, I find my mind wandering to corners of the past: how would the world look if x had happened, instead of y? Mundfish answered one of those with Atomic Heart: what would have happened if the Soviet Union survived and became the global superpower? Apparently, lots of angry robots, fur people, and a very horny vending machine. But now, as revealed at Summer Game Fest, Atomic Heart 2 is on the horizon, seeking to answer different questions and ponder even more. WWW.PCGAMESN.COMNew Atomic Heart MMORPG doubles down on the FPS's most controversial elementThe Cube. There's something a little bit ominous about it. Perhaps we're all slightly scarred from The Tesseract from the Avengers movies, or maybe the shape's geometric perfection carries a distinctly austere quality. In Mundfish's new shooter, set in the world of Atomic Heart (aptly dubbed the 'Atomic Universe'), there are even more reasons to fear cubes, so I caught up with CEO Robert Bagratuni to learn about the studio's first multiplayer foray. WWW.PCGAMESN.COMRivaling Armored Core 6, Steam's most-wanted mech game now has a release dateVideogame audiences seem to be extremely eager for mech games. FromSoft's return to Armored Core was warmly received when Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon came out in 2023, Into the Breach and Titanfall 2 are two of the most respected entries to the roguelike and FPS genre respectively, and, more recently, Mecha Break blew up on Steam after putting out a demo. Anyone impressed by that sampling is in luck now, as the upcoming multiplayer mech project just had its quickly approaching launch date announced during tonight's opening Summer Games Fest presentation. WWW.PCGAMESN.COMResident Evil 9 is actually real, it's called Requiem, and it has a release dateYes. Its happening, its real, and its finally been officially unveiled. Resident Evil 9 is on the way and weve just gotten our first full look at Summer Game Fest. Now, I love Resident Evil. Ive been playing the survival horror series for 29 years, ever since the first (and still best) game was released in 1996. Silent Hill, Alien Isolation, Amnesia, and other greats have earned their place in the genres pantheon - but RE, despite, in my personal opinion, the misfires of Resident Evil 7 and Village, still reigns supreme. Now, Capcoms crown jewel is making its valiant return. This is Resident Evil Requiem, and we already have a release date. WWW.LOVEMEOW.COMWoman Went to Help Tiny Shelter Kitten, Only to Discover She Had a Bigger Sister, and Couldn't Separate ThemA woman went to help a tiny shelter kitten, only to discover the kitten had a bigger sister. She couldn't separate them. CeCeNikkiWhen Nikki, an animal rescuer, heard about a tiny kitten in need at her local municipal shelter, she immediately offered to take her in."She was listed as weighing only 0.33 pounds. The shelter stated that she was not eating very well but seemed hungry," Nikki shared with Love Meow. They then mentioned that the kitten had a sister who, though small, was noticeably bigger."Absolutely (I could take her). I didn't want to separate them." Jess and CeCeNikkiOnce all the dirt and grime were washed away, the kittens, CeCe (black) and Jess (tabby), felt much better. They nestled comfortably into their new nursery and even started using the litter box. CeCe, who had trouble eating at the shelter, quickly revealed her strong will to live. With the kittens being so tiny, Nikki found them a snug ferret bed that was just their size. The little duo did everything together, always side by side. Nikki"This time of year, shelters and rescues across the country are flooded with motherless newborn kittens. It's not the easiest to bottle/syringe feed a newborn, but their life depends on it."When CeCe had her first taste of wet food, she dove right in, covering herself from nose to paws. Despite being the smaller of the two, she was eager to eat like a big kitty. NikkiThough CeCe faced a few setbacks and some tough battles, she conquered each one with incredible strength, thanks to the dedicated support of her foster mom."I have fought so hard for this girl since the day she came into my care at just 1/3 of a pound. I have tube-fed her and spent many nights up caring for her around the clock to get her to survive." NikkiEventually, CeCe's energy soared, and she regained her hearty appetite. "I knew she was going to be okay when I saw the light in her eyes starting to come back, and she began to eat on her own."One day, both kittens dug into their wet food, enthusiastically sharing one bowl even though they had their own. Nikki was so overjoyed that she did "a silent scream and a happy dance." CeCe was still the smaller of the two, but she more than made up for it with her fluffNikki"These girls are healthy and thriving, and seeing them play brings me so much joy."When Jess crossed the two-pound mark, CeCe was close behind her, catching up quickly. "I was so worried I was going to lose CeCe, and she came through. The girls bounce around playing all day and are full of energy." CeCe and Jess enjoyed exploring the house and hanging out with Bradley the dogNikkiAs CeCe grew, her coat developed a beautiful smokey hue and became fluffier each day. The bonded sisters roamed the house together, watching in fascination as the resident dog, Bradley, chewed her bone. Finally, they were big enough to use the baby gate without slipping through the slats. NikkiBut nothing could contain CeCe's grand adventures. She effortlessly scaled the baby gate like a nimble little ninja. "I was wondering why Jess was crying so much. She was alone in her room while CeCe was roaming the house.""The sisters have a really sweet bond. Although CeCe is a little more independent and adventurous, her sister Jess cries when she's not in her sight. She's always looking for her playmate." Nikki"They absolutely love people and are snuggly, affectionate babies."After two months in foster care, the best friends were finally ready for a family to call their own. "Having come to me as bottle babies, it's the day I looked forward to." NikkiThen, the perfect family came along and welcomed both into their loving home. "Jess and CeCe are in the arms of their new parents."When CeCe was at her lowest, Nikki lay beside her, wishing for the day she and her sister would be strong enough to be adopted. Now, "they are healthy, happy, confident girls, and I'm thrilled for them and their new family." Left: CeCe at her lowest. Right: CeCe and Jess adopted togetherNikkiShare this story with your friends.
