Bloom in Subnautica 2 devastates areas using parasites to spread the virus to host organisms, stopping you from accessing parts of the map that are blocked off by the infection. To gain access to all the adaptations that give you access to materials like gold and lithium, you'll need to acquire the Sonic Resonator first, providing you with a way to destroy Bloom and stop the infection in its tracks.

When you first dive into the waters of Zezura, you aren't able to hold many items until you get acclimatized to the desert planet. Once you get used to the planet and its many inhabitants, you'll soon discover the bases of past colonists who used to call Zezura home. This is where you'll want to increase your inventory slots in Subnautica 2. Starting off with just 20 inventory slots, you need to branch out in Subnautica 2 and find these abandoned bases if you want to carry more items with you. Expanding your inventory slots will help you progress through the survival game at a much faster rate, as will finding silver to help build crucial tools.

Most of the time in Subnautica 2, you will need access to many resources to build helpful items and tools. Titanium, for instance, is used in nearly everything as it makes the base of most construction projects. Lithium, however, is used in very few items, which makes learning where to find lithium vitally important to securing certain upgrades. It's only available in the early game in one specific spot, with one particularly dangerous threat looming over you.
