Where are the vault fragments in Borderlands 4? There are three vaults hidden across Kairos to seek out and unlock. In order to create each key, you'll need three vault fragments, so that's three vaults, three keys, and nine vault fragments in total. To help with the hunt, here's every vault fragment location in the Carcadia Burn, Terminus Range, and Fadefields areas, and where to find the vaults.

Borderland 4 vault fragment locations

Carcadia Burn, The Fadefields, and Terminus Range, the three regions surrounding Dominon, each host a primordial vault, which requires the corresponding region's three hidden vault key fragments to unlock. Here's where to look:

Fadefields

Comprising the southern stretch of Kairos, you'll find vault fragments in the Coastal Bonescape, Howl, and Idolator's Noose areas.

Fadefields vault fragment #1 - Coastal Bonescape

One vault fragment can be found in the bottom-left corner of the  Fadefields area, specifically around the Stillshore POI of the Coastal Bonescape. Get ready for a bit of a fight (unless you glide down from the nearby cliffs and sneak your way in.)

Right on the western coast of the pier, just hop over the left side and back onto the small beach area with a staircase. On the deck, you should spot the vault fragment atop the crate in the corner. Easy enough, right?

Fadefields vault fragment #2 - The Howl

You can fine the second Fadefields vault fragment north of town of Launchpad. Travel up the road beyond the farm, take a right, and you'll soon come across a ledge you can climb. Head into the craggy hill and you should spot the vault fragment positioned on a small post a little to your left.

Fadefields vault fragment #3 - Idolator's Noose

The final Fadefields vault fragment location takes you to the eastern reaches of the zone. In the area of Idolator's Noose, check the foundations of Rosemary's Reserve for a loose grate. You can remove it with your grapple to get underneath. The final vault fragment is among the refuse by the right vent.

Fadefields vault location - Dissected Plateau

The Fadefields vault, the Arch of Inceptus, is located on a hill in the Dissected Plateau southeast of the Idolator's Noose. Climb up from the Stubs POI, look for the triangular plinth, and insert the finished key. Head inside to claim your prizes.

Carcadia Burn

The northwestern area of Kairos is known as Carcadia Burn, where you'll find key fragments in the Lopside, Tonnage Peel, and Ruined Sumplands. The vault itself sits near the Grindstone of the Worthy.

Carcadia Burn fragment #1 - Lopside

On the western coast along Dominion, in the Lopside area, is one of the Carcadia Burn vault fragments. Coming in from the north, take the left path where it forks at the Yawning Yard. Just before the second bend, a house of ruffians should pick a fight. Grapple up the structure's longest point to find a vault fragment on the banquet table up top. If you're coming in from the opposite end, it's just south of the Makeshift Chalet Safehouse.

Carcadia Burn fragment #2 - Tonnage Peel

Continue north, sticking to the coast of the Carcadia Burn, and you'll come across the Wreck of the Last Great Hope POI in the Tonnage Peel area. From its west side, drive along its wide road and into its mountain entrance. After a brief walk, you should spot a manhole cover on your left. Use your grapple to reveal the entrance, drop down into the cavern, and you'll find a vault fragment against a little sliver of light.

Carcadia Burn fragment #3 - Ruined Sumplands

For the final vault fragment, head to the very north of the Carcadia Burn and into the Ruined Sumplands. Following the winding road. As you approach Hull's Basket and a fork that takes a left over the water, get off early and head down to the waterfront. You'll find your final Carcadia Burn vault fragment enjoying some time on the beach.

Carcadia Burn vault location - Grindstone of the Worthy

The Arch of Radix, the vault in Carcadia Burn, is located in the centre of the biome. Coming from the Ruined Sumplands, the open area is on your right as you cross the bridge connecting the two zones. Slip the key into the plinth to access the goods inside.

Terminus Range

Located on the east side of the region, Terminus Range is a bright white mountainous area with key fragments located around the Cuspid Climb, Windspear, and Low Leys areas. You'll find the Terminus Range vault location in this last area, too.

Terminus Range fragment #1 - Cuspid Climb

Located in the bottom portion of Terminus Range, around the Cuspid Climb, this one actually requires just that: a climb. After crossing a few gaps to reach the Goredello, another cast of your grapple can get you up what looked like a stepped cliff.

Make a couple of long glides across the canyons and you'll spot a cave entrance on your left. Defeat the deadly doggo that emerges and head inside. It isn't a deep den. Take the stepped path to the right and hop up to the top. A key fragment is among the lost souls.

Terminus Range fragment #2 - Windspear

On the eastern edges of Terminus Range is the Vestal Garrison. Only one of its large doors features a grapple point above it. Look for it, but rather than sling yourself up to perform a sneak assault on the base, head straight in and through the door to the left. Sprint toward the console dead ahead and you'll find your vault fragment sitting on a chest on the right side of the platform's base.

Terminus Range fragment #3 - The Low Leys

In the northern reaches of the Low Leys area of Terminus Range, along its border to the Stoneblood forest, scout around for a frozen landslide flanked by a twisted tree and a street light. It's just south of The Pit point of interest. Walk up what you can, then use your grapple to scale the right side of the incline to find a vault fragment glued to a stone obelisk.

Terminus Range vault location - The Low Leys

Located in the very same area, the Low Leys, is the Terminus Range vault, known as the Arch of Origo.

From the Heritage Opus safehouse in the Cuspid Climb, head north until you cross the border bridge into the Low Leys. You should spot a spiky rock shooting off from the road on your left that practically points to the cave entrance concealing the Terminus Range vault location. Head back a little, jump the gap, and head on it to claim your prize.
