These Solar Lights Can Be Installed on Pretty Much Any Outdoor Surface—and a Set of 16 Is Under $25 Today

Adding outdoor lighting was once a big job, involving electricians, contractors, laying cable, and more, but today’s solar-powered options, however, have made it easier and cheaper than ever to add ambience exactly where you want it. These solar lights from Solpex—a favorite of BHG editors—are up to 36% off, and come in sets of 16 or 20. One pack may be all you need to give your spread a glossy nighttime glow.

Originally $50, the current cost works out to less than $1.56 per light for this set of 16—not bad for a set that has more than 10,000 five-star reviews and counting.

We’re seriously impressed with how versatile these lights are and how easily they can mount most anywhere. Any surface that can hold a screw—wood, metal, masonry, and more—can accommodate these lights, making them perfect for lighting up decks, railings, fences, balconies, driveways, stairs, lake piers, dog runs, and anywhere else that could use an assist in the light department.

Each solar light is small and lightweight, roughly 3.5 inches wide with a drop just under 2 inches. Atop the instrument is a solar panel that fully charges in 4-5 hours of direct sunlight, according to the maker. Below is a frosted lens of durable ABS that softly diffuses the LED light. The sturdy plastic housings resist fading and cracking and are brown in color to blend with most outdoor surfaces. The LED itself is IP44-rated for water resistance, whether from rainstorms, snowmelt, or sprinkler systems.

Two screws are all that’s needed for installation, a process one shopper called “ridiculously easy.” The set includes those screws, along with anchors should you need them, and double-sided adhesive tape you can use with or instead of the screws. And most convenient of all, they require no manual turning on or off. Once installed in a sunny spot, your part’s done. Just kick back and enjoy as they come on, like clockwork, at sundown and run well into the night.

“These solar lights are a perfect addition to our new deck,” shared one shopper. “They are easy to install and provide an aesthetically pleasing glow.”

“They have the perfect amount of light at night, so that you can see where the railings are, but not so bright as to disrupt a calm and quiet evening mood,” another five-star reviewer shared.

Add just the right amount of light with this set of 16 solar lights from Solpex, or scroll down for more solar-powered deck lights to provide ambience, curb appeal, and better visibility in low-light conditions.
