If Monster Hunter Wilds lost you, it can't hurt to try Wild Hearts for just $7

Wild Hearts seems to have come and gone without making much of an impact. When it launched in 2023, Monster Hunter was still enjoying a Western resurgence with the still-popular World and Rise on the market and this year's Monster Hunter Wilds yet to be announced. Despite warm reviews that praised its take on the formula, and our own opinion that it's one of the best games like Monster Hunter on PC, Wild Hearts didn't exactly set the world on fire. Now, though, thanks to a steep discount, it's a good time to give it a shot for yourself.

In our review of Wild Hearts, Dave said it's "a gorgeous-looking action game in which you can fight creatively designed behemoths with some ridiculously powerful and, at times, unorthodox weapons," though he noted substantial performance issues that dragged the experience down. Those problems seem to have lingered over the years, leading to a 56% or 'Mixed' user rating and many reviews that continue to mention Wild Hearts' technical faults.

Still, performance aside, Wild Hearts is a solid take on the Monster Hunter formula, with a unique setting inspired by ancient Japan and a welcome addition to Capcom's hunting foundation by way of its ad-hoc object construction systems. Considering that this year's Monster Hunter Wilds has been deemed a bit of a letdown, Wild Hearts has a chance to capture an audience that might otherwise have missed out on it.
