This stunning new Gigabyte motherboard looks ideal for a wood PC build
A gorgeous new wood trim motherboard from Gigabyte has just been teased online, and it looks fantastic. Gaming PC builders with an eye on a new or upgraded AMD rig will want to consider this Gigabyte Aero X870E G X3D Wood Edition motherboard, crafted in white with a subtle wood highlight on the edge.
I'm personally a big fan of wood-themed gaming PCs, and I'm always keen to highlight them, including this stunning minimalist wood PC build. Adding a wood trim to this Gigabyte motherboard won't do much for specs, but it will do everything for the aesthetics. The company is well known for its motherboards, a number of which we've featured in our best gaming motherboard guide.
Publicity images for this new Gigabyte motherboard were shared on X (formerly Twitter) in a post by regular tech leaker Harukaze5719. The post shared two shots of the board, which features a white colorway, with an oak-style finish over the VRM heatsink and rear I/O. The wood theme is light, but it does add a really nice contrast against the white, making it a great option for a case like the Hyte Y70.
No other information is forthcoming, but this edition of the Gigabyte Aero X870E G X3D is likely to match the specs of the original. The existing board, sans wood, costs $299 right now on Amazon, and can be found in Intel and AMD flavors. Given X3D is mentioned in the product name, however, this is almost certainly an AMD board, featuring an AM5 socket type.
Other specs for the Gigabyte Aero X870E G include four DIMM slots for up to 256GB of DDR5 RAM, two 2.5G Ethernet ports, several USB 4 ports, and wireless support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. There are also five M.2 slots, one of which supports the fastest PCIe 5.0 drives over four lanes.
Gigabyte hasn't formally announced this special edition motherboard, but given the publicity shots, we'd be expecting it to launch soon. If I were building a new PC, I'd be very interested in a board like this one, and I'll be keen to see it installed in plenty of new gaming rigs in the near future.
