The Hades 2 1.0 launch is locked in, and it's just a couple of weeks away

The Hades 2 1.0 launch date has been confirmed, and it's very soon. We've been waiting for a while to find out when the sequel's early access journey would come to a close, and now developer Supergiant has written it in stone. On Thursday September 25, new protagonist Melinoë's battle against the titan Chronos will finally be complete, and as someone who's been trying to avoid spoiling myself since the game first came out I'm very excited to finally get started.

We knew the Hades 2 release date was likely to be close given that Supergiant had previously talked about wanting its last patch to be the final one before the full 1.0 launch. If you're like me, you might have been patiently holding off during early access to play the successor to one of the best roguelikes on PC once it was finally complete. I dipped very briefly into Hades 2 when it first released, and have been sitting on my metaphorical hands for the final thing. Now, that wait is over.

Fortunately, with most of us in the midst of Silksong fever or just getting started with Borderlands 4, this isn't a same-day shadow drop. We won't be waiting for long, however; Supergiant confirms it will be leaving early access in just a couple of weeks. The developer also says that new players will be able to buy it at the same price it's currently offered.

"Hades 2 is our team's first-ever sequel, and we've been giving it everything we've got for more than four and a half years," Supergiant writes. "Since May 2024, we've been developing in Early Access, taking feedback from our player community to try and fully realize this game's potential. The result is the biggest game we've ever made, and one we hope you'll find to be a worthy successor to its namesake."
