Grab this Asus 1440p 180Hz gaming monitor for a bargain price, if you're quick

This new Asus gaming monitor deal is a seriously impressive option if you're looking for an upgrade on a tight budget. Featuring a 180Hz refresh rate, this 27-inch 1440p curved display usually costs $239, but right now the price is down to just $179.99, saving you 25% on its MSRP in this limited-time deal.

Asus monitors are often in contention when you're choosing a new monitor, and the company isn't a stranger to making top-spec displays. There's a decent set of specs to enjoy on this VG27WQ3B model, too, enough to rival some of the displays in our best gaming monitor guide.

If you're on a tight budget, you'll be hard-pressed to find a monitor with better specs than this screen for this price. It features a 2,560 x 1,440  resolution, which, as long as you've got a PC with a good enough graphics card, means you can move away from 1080p gaming with a decent boost in video quality to 1440p. Meanwhile, the 180Hz refresh rate isn't top spec anymore, but it's still more than fast enough for most people's gaming needs.

The display itself is curved, rated at 1500R, meaning a 1,500mm radius, giving you a more immersive gameplay experience than a standard flat screen. Meanwhile, the VA panel tech is great for single-player cinematix games, as our VA vs IPS guide explains, giving it higher contrast and deeper blacks than IPS rivals, although it will offer slow pixel response times, meaning this monitor isn't the best option for fast-paced competitive shooters.

One really cool feature offered by this monitor is also its support for Asus' extreme low motion blue (ELMB) tech, which cleverly strobes the backlight on and off to reduce ghosting artifacts. We've found it works really well, making your gameplay look and feel fast and smooth. and you can read more about it on our Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ review, where we tested it.

Meanwhile, AMD FreeSync support will help you sync the refresh rate of the display with your GPU's frame rate to remove screen tears and stutters. Nvidia G-Sync isn't mentioned, but we've often found it works on displays where FreeSync is supported, although we can't confirm that here.

All in all, this Asus TUF Gaming VG27WQ3B monitor is a seriously powerful option, but at $179, it's a steal. You'll need to be quick, though, as this Amazon deal won't be around for long. You can pick it up, while stock lasts, using this link here.
