After 6 months of silence, Cities Skylines is getting a new content pack
Cities Skylines 2 came out back in 2023, but creator Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive have continued to support its predecessor, Cities Skylines, even after the sequel's launch. This is a good thing, especially given that the first Cities Skylines has established itself as a beloved entry to a genre that also includes popular games like Anno 1800, Tropico 6, and SimCity 4. Fortunately, Colossal and Paradox are still adding in fresh material, with two new creator packs and a radio station just announced for a quickly approaching launch.
It's been a long time since substantial DLC has arrived for Cities Skylines, but the packs coming to the city building game show that new additions aren't coming to an end just yet. Available as a bundle or as individual items, the upcoming DLC includes two creator packs, Shops of Shibuya and Map Pack 4, as well as the Harumi Nights Radio Station.
Shops of Shibuya, made by 'Stop it D,' lets players use three new buildings, two parks, 47 new props, and 27 low density and high density commercial growables, all inspired by Tokyo, Japan's Shibuya ward. Map Pack 4 from 'Uncle Ron,' on the other hand, introduces 10 new maps and 10 new intersections, with the map landscapes including everything from dusty desert plains to forested alpine fjords.
Lastly, Harumi Nights is a new radio station that adds in 16 tracks meant to provide music that, per the new creator pack's Steam description, is "inspired by the neon-lit streets and vibrant nightlife of modern Japan."
Cities Skylines' Shops of Shibuya Bundle and its individual DLC packs launch on Wednesday September 24. Grab a copy of the base game or wishlist it on Steam right here.
