Not to be outdone by Battlefield 6, Delta Force now lets you fly jets

There's still a little way to go before two of the biggest multiplayer shooters of the year arrive in the form of Call of Duty Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6. In the meantime, work is still being done on existing FPS projects like Delta Force. Now, the game is set to receive a new season called War Ablaze, which offers a direct alternative to its competitors thanks to its inclusion of not just a new map, operator, and modes, but also the addition of playable fighter jets.

Delta Force has built a strong player base since its launch, providing a solid free FPS game to delve into on PC. It's also been steadily supported with substantial updates, like the upcoming improvements and additions set to arrive with its new season, War Ablaze.

Yesterday, we detailed the new operator coming to War Ablaze, but just as noteworthy is the new map, Warfare, and the changes arriving along with it. Warfare consists of a desert city, surrounded by steep mountains and twisting canyons, that's been turned into a battlefield. Aside from engaging in on-foot urban combat, the new map will also allow you to pilot a new fighter jet in tense dogfights high above the city.

Alongside Warfare, Delta Force's upcoming season will also be adding two new operations, Operation Warden and Operation Raven, to the game, as well as a fresh season pass and a variety of in-game items themed around the Saw movie series.

Delta Force's War Ablaze season update arrives on Tuesday September 23. In the meantime, you can start playing the game on Steam for free right here.
